Texture Dies

Don’t you love when you order something intending to use it and then forget you have it? Well that’s how tonights creations came about. I was going through all of my drawers trying to find some inspiration for Christmas Cards that I need to get done for a customer and for another 2 buffets coming up shortly.

Want to know what I found? Our Elegant Bouquet texture die along with our Petals a Plenty texture die! How exciting right? Here are a few samples that I’ve made with each.

IMG_2689

For this card I used the set Tree Trimmings along with Teeny Tiny Wishes for the Merry Christmas. It’s a odd color combo for Christmas but I love the way Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, and Old Olive flow. For the dots that have color splashed on them I simply used our Stampin’ Write markers to fill them into to give it just a touch more color.

Next I went ahead and used our Elegant Bouquet texture die with the set Delightful Decorations.

I’m just going to give you a couple glimpses as I’m not totally satisfied with how they came out but still adorable.

IMG_2692IMG_2690

I used colors Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, and once again Old Olive.

I took a close up of the picture on the right to show you in better detail what the Elegant Bouquet texture die looks like. Beautiful, isn’t it?

For the “tops” of the ornaments I used a new item out of our Holiday Mini Catalog, Silver Elastic Cord. It’s also available in gold. On the Old Olive card I used some glitter to high light the ornament and make it stand out a bit more.

I have more to share but it’s time for House here in Alaska, so until it’s over with, you’ll know where I’ll be! Relaxing with my husband on the couch enjoying a fantastic new episode!

Forget me not card holder

After my buffet on Friday night I decided that I was going to take a break this weekend from doing anything crafty. Or so I told myself that I was going to try. That didn’t work very well come today when my husband decided that while the kids were down for their naps that he was going to go to the shooting range with one of his buddies from his Unit. Okay, well atleast he was considerate enough to do it while the kids were down. When he left at 1 he said he’d be home in a hour.

Two hours later I text him asking him what had happened to 1 hour and his reply was that they were on his way back. Then he gets here and his friend has come home with him. I normally don’t mind when he brings friends over but today he didn’t say he was bringing him, didn’t give me any type of warning so that I could atleast go get out of pj’s and not look horribly grungy! It’s my lazy Sunday at home I’m not expecting people over without any notice. Ugh..men.

Now onto todays project while he was gone. I’ve been seeing these around lately and have thought they were adorable. I’ve had my Forget Me Not holder that Stampin’ Up! sells for over 6 months now and never really thought to decorate it up to make it look prettier!

Well that is what I did today. I used Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper. What do you think? I don’t think I’m done decorating the outside of the box but I was too excited to post since I haven’t since the 5th :(

IMG_2681

Today was also the first day that I have broke out the set Calendar Alphabet & Numbers. What a pain in the bottom to cut apart and then stick to the ends of those itty bitty blocks!

IMG_2682IMG_2685

In these two photos you can see what the cards look like on top. Which has the month and days for the 2010 calendar year.

I wanted to show you a picture of that back side which looks identical to the front but instead of the calendar itself, it has each day in the month with a dotted line next to it to fill in for each birthday, anniversary, anything that you could possibly send someone a card for!

The other people to the right is the picture of what they look like in the box, minus the cards. My camera decided to die on me in the middle of taking photos so I don’t have all of the angles and details of this complete box up yet.

Hopefully in the next few hours when it’s done charging I’ll update with those plus a couple cards that I got accomplished today too!

Until then, I hope everyone had a great weekend and is excited to start a new week.

Anniversary Card

I was requested by a friend a few days back to make a anniversary card. I can honestly say I haven’t made a whole lot of anniversary cards but am rather pleased with the way this one came out.

IMG_2676

This card is inspired by a card that I saw awhile back in one of our older Stampin’ Success magazines. I love that each month they come with such amazing ideas and inspiration. Along with getting to know other demonstrators, their stories, and how they achieve such success.

IMG_2678IMG_2679

Beautiful and elegant in one, isn’t it? Maybe it’s just me but I simple adore it. I’m going to play with it in other colors to see what I can come up with as well.

I just recently bought the Pretties Kit and have been kicking myself for the last week or so, trying to figure out why on God’s green earth I hadn’t bought it before then! Well the good news, I guess, is that I own it now and couldn’t be happier with that purchase.

Stamp set Love You Much was used. It’ll be a great set to have around for Valentines Day ladies so be sure to pick it up ;)

Also I finally broke out my vellum card stock tonight and was rather pleased with how well it holds up. I was a bit hesitant about it for some reason, can’t really tell you why, but using it tonight I was proved wrong.

As for my Advent Calendars….ugh…I’m still working on them. It’s been a bewildering, hard, devastating day with Fort Hood’s events for us as a military community along with every other person affect by this. Due to this incident there has been a fair amount of commotion on post. I will continue praying for those soldiers lost along with their family members, please do the same.

Not due to Fort Hoods incident but due to another sensitive issue, I’ve been stuck at home worrying about my husband due to a lock down in his Unit and no word until late afternoon what was going on and why he hadn’t been home since 530 this morning. Needless to say with all of that, little of anything got done today.

I’m going to have to bust my bottom tonight along with tomorrow to get things done but it’ll be well worth it once the buffet starts at 7pm. That’s all for now. If I get one of the Advent Calendars done tonight I will update again. Until then, tomorrow is Friday so enjoy your day, your weekend is just a few hours away.

Build-a-bear gift bags

Where to even start with today..

Waking up this morning was a great wake up. You know what I’m talking about, where you wake up and your no longer tired and your wide awake, ready to start the day? That was this morning, I absolutely love mornings like that. It makes the day start out wonderfully.

I got out of bed, got breakfast for the kids and waited on Jordan to come home from PT to grab some breakfast and shower. After he left I started in on 3 Advent Calendars….Yes..I said THREE!! Oowie! These things are soooo much work but sooo worth the end result. I’m teaching the class on how to make these on the 20th but have had a few girls request that I make them and have them ready on Friday, the 6th! Needless to say I’ve been a busy girl.

Here is what my poor craft room has looked like all day so far

IMG_2655

It’s been one large, sweet treat cup, sticky tape, circle punch mess!

IMG_2654IMG_2658

You can kinda sorta see some of my progress in these pictures.

In the other there are a ton of snowflakes punched out using our Jumbo Snowflake Punch thanks to my darling husband who did it for me as I do not have the strength to squeeze that darn thing!

Why did I show you the picture of the snowflake punch outs? Well that is my next share…

Can you possibly guess what I’ve done? Maybe…

If not, your in luck, I’ve posted pictures!

Build-a-Bear gift bags for my card buffet ladies on Friday :)

IMG_2669

I did use the same exact girl bear that I did for the Christmas His/Hers cards that I did a couple days ago.

IMG_2671IMG_2665

I haven’t quite completed all of these gift bags as you can see. They are a work in progress that will continue into tomorrow. Along with the Advent Calendars too.

Once I get those 3 new Advent Calendars done, since I’m doing them in different patterns and papers then I did the first one, I’ll post new pictures along with a tutorial for the new method to get the candy out as many people have asked for a update.

That’s all for tonight everyone. I’m tired and still have a done more work to do, tonight, tomorrow, and Friday!

Until then take care and enjoy your week :)

Perfect Chemistry & Criss Cross Card

Today was the first day back for my husband after a month off of work. It was great and frustrating all at the same time. I say it was great due to the fact that I was able to spend the whole day in my craft room and actually get things accomplished, such as getting the 70+ cards cut and bagged for Fridays card Buffet. Now, on the other hand, why it’s frustrating is due to my darling children. They’ve gotten use to having their daddy around and when he’s not here they are wondering where the heck that darling man went.

When trying to explain to a 1 1/2 & 3 1/2 year old that daddy is at work and will be home soon, it goes well some times and not so well others. The first half of the day went smoothly without any interruptions. I couldn’t have asked for a better morning. Then, after nap time they couldn’t listen to save their own little lives. It took great strength and refraining not to scream as loud as I could and put myself in the corner with ear plugs in. Wouldn’t that be nice some days?

Needless to say, as soon as daddy walked through the door they straightened up and acted like I was just a looney bin! Thanks kids!

During their nap time I was able to get a few projects done that weren’t class related. Starting with a Criss-Cross card. I used Holiday Lounge Designer Series paper, well my scraps I should say, along with Whisper White card stock as the base for the card.

IMG_2642

This was the first time I’ve ever tried making one of these criss-cross cards and it went fairly well. I did change the measurements of it to get a better fit.

IMG_2643

IMG_2644

For the insert of the card, I used Brushed Silver for a tab at the top for easy pull out.

Christmas Punch and Tree Trimmings stamp sets were used on this card. Both were stamped in Old Olive.

Next would be the scrapbook page that I just cased out of our last Stampin’ Up! magazine that was too cute not to. I’ve made some changes to it that I liked better but left it essentially the same.

IMG_2637

Isn’t this just a perfect 12×12 layout?

Where the 5×7 piece of Basic Gray cardstock is, will actually be a 5×7 photo not the paper. I didn’t have any 5×7’s at the moment that fit this page as I would want them to.

IMG_2640IMG_2641I bought the set Perfect Chemistry and was never quite sure what to do with it or what I could to with it. I just loved it and had never used it! Sounds like half of the stuff that I own.

When I saw this scrapbook page featured in the magazine I knew I had to make it! I did boo-boo in a little bit the corner where the stamps are. I’m trying to not let my OCD kick in and fix it! We’ll see how well that one lasts.

This was also my first time using my Lattice Die. I’m going to try my hand at some more creations with tonight and hope I can come up with something truly beautiful. Maybe even another scrapbook layout.

I hope everyones week is off to a great start and continues to go that way :)

Girl Build-a-Bear Christmas Share

After making the boy build-a-bear Christmas card I figured making a girl one and making it smaller would be perfect for a class in a couple of weeks. I didn’t make the detail as good with this one, so I’m going to have to tinker around with that some more.

I’m still debating on the size, I like it as a 5 1/2″x4 1/4″ vs 5″x7″. We’ll see what I finally decide on that.

Okay enough rambling, I did decorate the girl a little bit more with a belt and pom-pom on her snow hat. While also adding a little bit of Regal Rose chalk for blush (which is also the color, Regal Rose, of her outfit!).

IMG_2634

A few additional shots

IMG_2635IMG_2636

For the snowflakes on the girls shirt I used the three little ones from Serene Snowflakes, along with Versa Mark ink followed by a hint of glitter over the top of them.

I used the little girl sizzlit die to cut out the belt, bow, and pom-pom for her accessories.

Other then that it’s the exact same as the boy card!

I’m off to play with this design a little bit more to see if I can get it more detailed like the first. Or maybe I should cut out more cards for a class..I’m so torn! Sometimes it’s hard to make the decision you know you should when you want to do something else. Such is life right? Maybe I’ll go back and forth between the two! Sounds like a plan to me.

Happy stamping everyone :)

Build-a-Bear Christmas Card

Our Build-a-Bear Dies offer you so many possibilities of the numerous ways you can use them. From bookmarks, treat bags, scrapbook pages, dress up bears..see what I mean, I can keep going and going while never listing a duplicate idea. They are a wonderful addition to our already amazing products. I hope Stampin’ Up! comes out with more fabulous dies for them year round.

Now on to the card. I loved this card from the minute I saw it. It’s not a direct case but it’s close. I didn’t add the sled that she had because I’m working on something different and don’t want to post it until I get it just right! But here is the card so far

IMG_2630

Isn’t he just too cute?!

IMG_2626IMG_2627

The stamp sets that I used for this card was, Lovely as a Tree along with Many Merry Messages.

Ironically enough with owning almost a full catalog full of stamps I don’t own a whole lot of holiday stamps meaning I don’t own a ton of different holiday phrases.

So what did I do to fix that? I ordered some more holiday sets so I can stop repeatedly using the same ones.

Now I need to get back into my craft room and get started on some sample Christmas cards for a friend who would like to send hand made cards out instead of buying them, make a Advent Calendar for a new gal that will be attending a upcoming Buffet, then finish cutting out the cards for that Buffet as well! Sheesh, it’s going to be a busy afternoon!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween last night. Happy November :)

My Story

I’m a little bummed that I didn’t get around to posting yesterday. We had a dinner party so I had spent the day cleaning, shopping, and then cooking. It was a blast and I enjoyed cooking for a large group. Although I was impressed when 10 people didn’t even go through one 13″x9″ pan of lasagna but certainly devoured the 13″x9″ pan of Raspberry Caramel Cheesecake! Funny how that works, huh?!

Okay, the title of today’s post (Well the first one atleast) is “My Story”. The reason for it is, I’m enrolled in a bootcamp session for my Stampin’ Up! business. One of the assignments was to write my story for becoming a demonstrator. I wish I could sit here and tell you that my story was this great exciting novel you could read over and over but it simply wasn’t.

My husband had been deployed for 8 months at the time to Iraq. I’d been crafting all deployment and my craft area was overflowing with numerous papers, embellishments, from numerous artists and companies. After posting a lot of what I was creating, sending it out, and making for others, I felt that I wanted to do this and have it be a job. I’d been thinking about it for awhile and it just really felt right. I tried looking into Creative Memories as I had a cousin who was a consultant for them at one point and knew she really enjoyed it. After looking through their products, it didn’t sit right with me so I let the feeling go for then.

About a week later on MilitarySOS, a forum I’m on, it hit me! I forgot to check on Stampin’ Up! as a company to consider. A friend on there Torie, had been posting all of the current promotions and deals for becoming a demonstrator. After buying all of the ink pads Stampin’ Up! offers and a fair amount of Stampin’ Up! product through her I thought that it was my time to step up and sign up. With the deal going at the time to become a demo for only $75 I couldn’t pass it up.

That’s where my Stampin’ Up! journey began. I’m not quite to my 6th month mark yet but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and couldn’t be more pleased at how much my business has grown for me. I needed something while my husband was deployed and only wished I had gotten into Stampin’ Up! earlier into our year long deployment instead of towards the end. It’s given me such pleasure sharing what I love with others while also being able to call it a full time job.

As I said, nothing exciting or a grand adventure into discovering who I was. I loved crafting and wanted it to become something I could make money doing while still enjoying it and that is what Stampin’ Up! offers you. To love your job and the possibilities it brings you each and everyday. They are an amazing company, from Shelli the Co-founder herself down to each and every demonstrator out there. I would recommend this company to anyone who is interested into making the plunge into the Demonstrator world.

Thank you for taking the time to read this! Week one’s assignments are now complete and time to start on next weeks.

Be looking back for actual projects getting done later in the day as I’ve got a little bit more clean up to do then into the craft room it’ll be for me :)

Home Decor Elements!!!

I have been wanting to do this for too long and finally went ahead and bought them!!

What did I buy you ask? The large wall decor tree from Thoughts and Prayers stamp set along with one of our word definitions. I choose create for this as I thought it went perfect for my craft room that I put it in.

Here are a few photos!! I love it!!

IMG_2622

I only posted this picture because I wanted to give you a general idea of where it was placed in the room. I can’t wait for all of my upcoming events to see what the ladies think of it! Now here are a few better shots for your enjoyment purposes ;)

IMG_2617

I’m thinking I’m going to get a few more things to put up around the craft room I just haven’t decided what yet.

IMG_2620IMG_2621

Have I mentioned that I’m totally in love with home decor elements yet?

Incase I haven’t, I say it again! They are simply amazing. Not only do they add something to a room it brightens it up, makes it stand out, and make it a happier room to be in.

Now whenever I’m feeling discouraged or I get frustrated with not being able to do something I can look to this wall (Which is right next to my desk for a reason) and simply read the definition of create. To create and inspire is all I need to read to give myself the motivation to get through it. Although I do think that I need to buy the Inspire definition to go on another wall in there too :)

Which is what I need to get back to, creating! I’m working on some boxed sets to be able to give away as gifts here shortly for customers and friends. Thanks for looking :)

Card share times three!

Not doing my usual midnight post kinda threw me off last night/this morning. I had projects made and ready to be posted but I thought I’d wait to see how I felt about not posting in the morning. Well I can tell you that I as soon as my alarm went off at 6:50 I was more than anxious to get downstairs this morning and get my blog going!

These three cards that I’m going to show you are all cards that were inspired from other demonstrators. One is a direct case, I did not change anything to the card except for the color pink I used in mine, which is Pixie Pink instead of Pretty in Pink. Anyways, the card was originally made by Tammy Fite. As soon as she posted her card to the Late Night Stampers group I automatically went to her blog telling her how much I loved her card and that I’d be casing it very soon!! Well very soon was the same day she posted it and here is my version of it

IMG_2609

Isn’t it just a beautifully striking card?

IMG_2610

I will be make this card into a boxed set in different colors because I’m so in love with it! Once again, thank you Tammy for such a delightful card :)

As I said before these next two projects are also inspired by fellow demonstrators but I don’t have names to go with them. The first one I saw posted as a gift basket but I transformed it into a card for Thanksgiving instead.

IMG_2606

Hopefully you can clearly see that this is a Turkey! If not, I think I’ve failed at my job miserably and I hope that’s not the case!

IMG_2607

Now for the last card that I will be showing you in this post.

It’s a Christmas card made again for a upcoming card buffet. Using the stamp set Christmas Punch. I’m learning lately that I’m using this set quite frequently as it has a little taste of everything Christmas in it.

IMG_2616

Oh I suppose I’ll show you the full card now that I’ve only shown you a side glimpse.

The colors used for this card are Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, and lastly Whisper White. Also used is our Uni-ball white gel pen which I’m telling you is a must needed tool in the card and scrapbooking making world ;)

IMG_2613

That’s all for now folks. Back to more creating, organizing, and planning. Today is going to be a wonderful day of getting numerous things accomplished and I can’t wait :)

I hope everyones day is as productive as mine or atleast close. Only one more day until the weekend, you can make it!
