Prehistoric Pals & Ginormous Flowers Decor Elements

Yesterday I started decorating our son and daughters room in this two awesome Decor Element kits we offer at Stampin’ Up! For my son I went with the set Prehistoric Pals as he is starting to get into the dinosaur thing and thought that this would be perfect. I have not finished, (I’m not even close yet!), but I wanted to share the start of this long project.

All I’ve gotten done so far is the set right above his bed, I got this in the medium size, we offer it in Small, Medium, and Large. I’ve got a few of each sized set so it doesn’t look the same all throughout his room.

You can see that it is right above his bed and how much more space I have to cover! Thankfully only half of the room is his and him and his little sister share. They are too scared to be in separate rooms yet and I’m okay with that. I like that they can curl up with each other when they get scared and that they have that comfort in each other already. Here is a close of up of those Prehistoric Pals

For my daughter’s side of the room I went with the set Ginormous Flowers and actually got sent the wrong color combination then what I had selected. The one I received in the end actually flowers better with the colors from the Prehistoric Pals set but I was looking forward to doing pinks and browns. Maybe it was fate telling me no!

As you can see on her side as well I have only started and have yet to come close to the tip of the ice berg. Hopefully my darling husband will get off early again sometime this week and will be able to help me out.

Above their window, which I didn’t get a good picture of here, I bought some of our vinyl that you can make your own decor elements with, and am planning on cutting out the phrase, “Caleb & Chloe’s Room” and placing it in the center above their window as that is what separates each side of their room.

They are already tickled pink with it so I can’t wait to see what they will think when their whole room is finished!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday :)

Cards & Things Challenge #17

All I can say is what a week. I don’t think I have ever been this sick that I can remember where I had no energy what so ever. Which meant for me doing pretty much nothing at all. Updating the blog, crafting all of that was out of the question this past week. Thankfully this morning after getting a full nights rest along with a long nap this morning I am feeling almost 100% better with only a soar throat left. I’m crossing my fingers, knocking on wood, and attempting to hold my breath that it stays away!!

Here is my first project accomplished this week and it’s for the Cards & Things Challenge Blog

Here is my submission

Now that I am feeling better I have tons of custom orders to fill. I will be updating my blog every day for the rest of the month rain or shine!! If I’m not posting call me out and demand me to get on here and atleast update all of you instead of waiting so long.

My next post will be showing you the Decor Elements I have started putting up in my children’s bedroom to give it something more then white walls! I’m terribly at decorating, well not terribly, lets just say lazy. It’s military housing and with moving around so much who want’s to decorate to just take it down in a year or so and start all over and at a new place that may not even have room for that said decoration, okay okay…I’m silly and complaining I know. But my darling children asked for their room not to be so plain so we picked out some decorations are in the process of getting them all up.

Cards & Things Challenge Number 16

This would be the sketch challenge that Krista has for us over on the Cards & Things Blog Challenge this week.

Last week, well I should be honest and say the past two weeks have kicked my butt pretty fierce. With getting ready for classes, a Open House, and attempting to fill a fair amount of custom orders it was pretty chaotic. I still have quite a few custom orders to fill and am looking forward to sharing those with you soon. With everything being so crazy I completely spaced on participating in last weeks challenge and couldn’t wait to play along in this weeks challenge.

Here is my card. I’ve got to admit that I was drawing a bit of a blank of what to make. I started flipping through my Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper pack to attempt to come up with something and thought that using these darling flowers on the card would make a nice touch.

This smile stamp came from the set Picnic Parade, it is currently a level two hostess set in our Occasions Mini Catalog. Hopefully I’ll be featuring a project using this set soon so you can see what it has to offer as it is a rather large stamp set with lots of darling pieces in it.

Now it’s time for me to go back to relaxing to hopefully kick this cold out of my system.

Beautiful Wings Card Purse + Card Share

Awhile back when the Occasions Catalog was released to us demonstrators for pre-order Illian made this beautiful card to start with and I decided to case that beautiful card, because well it’s beautiful! Have I said that enough yet! Here is the link to original post where you can also find the link to her blog : Sneak Peek

Today I have a Open House I am attending in a few hours with 4 or 5 other home businesses there to represent what they do. Here I am rushing with all my might to get some more projects done. Last night I had a class that started at 7 and the last person didn’t leave until 1130pm! It was a fantastic class and I enjoyed everyone’s company. I can honestly say I’m glad that 4 people cancelled which took the total from 14 down to 10 as my dining was packed! I had to move it out of my craftroom as I can only fit 8 in there comfortably.

Here I’ve made a Card Purse with my Beautiful Wings Sizzlit die and matching cards

Here is the purse all by itself. Now I couldn’t decide which shot I liked better to show you of the purse and cards together so I’m just going to post both!

And this one

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post! Yet another short one as I’ve got to get back to workin! It almost seems like that’s all I’ve been doing lately, that or it’s just go-go-go in life as well! Hopefully things will slow down one of these days. Until then, have a wonderful weekend.

Valentine Card Share

Today I’m once again plugging away at tasks that must be finished by tomorrow.  I’m starting to realize that I accept to many tasks at once but at the same time I love the challenge of trying to get it done in that time period. It helps motivate me and keeps me busy during this long Alaska winter. I know, I know, you are all probably going to say I already have my hands full watching my two children and then adding another three on top of that, where do I get the time to get anything done!

To honestly answer that question of where I get my time, I think it’s still a mystery to me. I sneak in moments here and there, nap times, lunch times, any time that I can sneak away while they are occupied but still in sight I will take it! Thankfully one of the little boys likes to sleep late into the morning which really helps too!

On to this mornings share, it’s a quick Valentines Day card

Have you noticed I’ve been sticking to the simple trend the last few posts? I sure have and I’m not enjoying it much but after this week I should be back to my more detailed creations and posts, or lets hope, fingers crossed, knock on wood! The saying on this card is from the set Vintage Vogue that is in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.

I hope you are fully enjoying your day everyone

Fox & Friends meets Little Angel!

With all the recent work I’ve done on baby shower favors, invites, thank’s you, and gosh only know’s what else you’ll probably guess what I have to show you next! More baby shower items. I was asked to make more thank you samples in different colors using our Soft Subtle category. I think I probably stuck to the safe colors to see if this design is liked first and if it is then I’ll play around with a more advance card.

These are simple 3×3 cards that can be used for name cards for table seating, thank you’s,  really anything you want. I always thought that 3×3 cards were too small but now that I’ve been doing so many of them they seem to be the perfect size

I don’t think this is my best work ever but I desperately needed to update my blog as I haven’t the last couple of days other then to announce by blog candy winner! Now that I’ve got all of my cards cut for this upcoming event on Friday I should have a little bit more free time cleared up.

I want to try to find a smaller flower to use as a “hair” piece on this darling little monkies as I like the idea of it but these seem a little too big and overwhelm it for me.

Well now that I’ve got a post up, I’m going to get back to work so I have some brand new work to show you, that will hopefully me a wonderful masterpiece, here’s to hoping right?!

Blog Candy – Winner Announced!!

Before I possibly don’t get the chance to not update my blog again for the third day in a row, I wanted to jump on here and announce my blog candy winner so it is officially the 12th and my 21st birthday :)

Laura W who left me this wonderful comment

“God. For without Him there would be no beauty. I get inspired every time I open up the door and marvel at the weather (whether bright and sunny with the birds flying, or delicate snowflakes falling from the ski) p.s Love the new bird punch!!! My children’s sense of wonder inspires me. As they look on each day with a new and curious eye. The sincere and heartfelt thank you’s I receive from my card ministry inspires me. To touch the lives of those shut -in, ill, people who think know one cares, inspires me to reach out more. The knowledge that spending 15-30 minutes of my time makes another smile -is awesome! Happy Birthday to you! We have 23 birthdays in Jan and this would be awesome to give as a present (or keep as mine is on Jan 15th-lol)”

Is my blog candy winner! After entering everyone’s name into a glass jar to be pulled out, may I add writing down everyone’s name wasn’t as easy as I thought!! There were quite a few more responses then I thought when I started writing them all out!

Laura, I do have your email address and will be emailing you shortly to get you information from you!

From here on out for every 5,000 views I get I will be offering new blog candy so keep coming back to see what I’ve been up to!

The last couple of days I know I haven’t been around but that’s been due to taking on a new task of babysitting 3 children that are not my own on top of my own 2! Yup, 5 children that are the ages of 5,4,2,2,2!! Call me crazy because I think I am to watch that many two year olds by myself! That and getting ready for my largest Card Buffet yet and cutting well over 70 cards has taken up a lot of my time.

Fingers crossed that tonight I will have a project to share with all of you!

Until then I hope everyone has had a fantastic. Blessings

Valentine’s Day Purse & Cards Using Sending Love Designer Series Paper

I took yesterday off from updating my blog, I don’t like doing it but I think it was much-needed. The past week has tuckered me out and I needed a day to catch up on my rest. Let me tell you, I think that is the first time that I have ever slept 14 hours in my life! Does that tell you how ridiculously tired I was too! I spent the day babysitting while also trying to finish up a couple more samples for my card buffet (with no luck I might add), and by the time the little boys mommy came to pick him up all I wanted to do was go to bed.

Unfortunately going to bed at 5pm was not an option. I made it up until after watching the show Ghost Whisperer and then was out like lighting. I faintly remember my husband carrying me to bed, our daughter coming into our bed half way through the night because she got sick again, and then waking up to getting a text message on my phone at 11am! I was glad I got the sleep but bummed that I pretty much slept my day away as I promised a friend I’d help her pack up her house. On a good note I did make it to her place at 1!

Okay, now on to the crafting part of my night. I attempted to make my first card purse which was quite fun and something I’m going to do again.

I’ve used Designer Series Paper Sending Love with some Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, and Real Red card stock. The Real Red that I used is textured.

Here I have used a set that I haven’t featured yet out of the current Sale-A-Bration catalog called Happy Moments. I placed my order on January 5th when the ordering came back online and as you all know I’m not very patient and paid for 2 day UPS so that I’d have a little bit more time to prepare for an Open House I’m participating in this coming Saturday!

I have done a couple more card designs but didn’t want to overload my post with pictures as I’ve really got to get by bottom in gear with some more projects!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and if you haven’t received your orders already that they will be pouring in this coming week with all of your new goodies!

Once again, don’t forget to check out my blog candy which you can find HERE

Fox & Friends Share + Don’t forget about Blog Candy!

For so many things happening in the next week. The cards I’m going to show you today are two that I’m offering at a upcoming Buffet on the 15th. This first one was inspired by a card I saw on SplitCoastStampers, I think! To tell you the truth I really don’t remember, when I saved it to my computer there was no watermark on the photo or anything. I changed the colors and the layout to my own but did get inspiration for the other card.

I’ve used the set Fox & Friends along with colors Bravo Burgundy, Mellow Moss, and Whisper White. I love this color combination together. You can take out Bravo Burgundy and input Melon Mambo and get a beautiful combination as well.

Now here is the second card, pretty much the same design just tweaked a little bit by using the Scallop Trim Border Punch along with the Corner Punch.

I didn’t get around to posting yesterday as I’ve been working non-stop trying to get a hundred things accomplished or so it seems. Today I’m going to try and focus my attention more on those items instead of getting side tracked so easily!

Don’t forget to check out my blog candy which you can find HERE

And my Ribbon Share that is going on as well which can be found HERE

Have a wonderful day everyone

Medallion & En Francais Candle Share + Blog Candy Giveaway

Good morning everyone. Today I’ve got another new project for you that I have never featured before. I’ve “stamped” on some white candles to make them into beautiful Stampin’ Up! creations!

For the short candle on the right I’ve used Melon Mambo Classic Ink and Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon. For my taller pillar I’ve used Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink along with Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon and brad right in the middle of my Medallion stamp.

I’ve taken tissue paper then inked up my stamp, stamped my tissue paper and then heat set it onto my candle using my Heating Tool that Stampin’ Up! sells. It is truly that easy to make your own unique and beautiful decor for your home.
